Pete von Pessin is a beautiful red and black long haired German Shepherd. Pete is being fostered in Montana, and wanted to write his own bio: it's worth reading, he is quite good at it.
Hey there, my name is Pete and as you can see from my pictures, I'm a real handsome fella. In fact, my foster dad says I'm a real chick magnet. I love my people. Well, actually, I love pretty much all people. I love car rides, but I especially love truck rides, cruising around town, checkin' things out. I have good car and truck riding manners, but when we stop I just want to get out and be with you. If you leave me in the car or truck, I will whine and bark at first but pretty soon I'll settle down and just sit there waiting for you., lookin' to see you appear from where you last disappeared to. I get a big kick out of going to PetSmart and have all the people fawn all over me and I LOOOOVVVEgoing shopping at Home Depot too, cuz boy, all those people just say how good looking and sweet I am….and they all scratch my head which is my favorite place for a scratch!
All that being said, for some reason other dogs don't seem to like me. My guess is they're just jealous of my good looks and sweet disposition. I'm really a scaredy cat at heart, but since I don't take crap from anybody, especially some dog, if they growl or snip at me, my first instinct is set them right, if you know what I mean. I'm only about 12 months old, so please forgive me if I make any dumb puppy mistakes.
One thing I do like to do is mouth…it’s a GSD thing. Some people like it and other people don't, so my foster parents are trying to break me of it. I'm a lover but I'm also a protector. A couple of times I've been walking with my foster mom at night and a sketchy looking character approaches us and I'll give a slight growl just to let them know that Mom has me watching her back. I'm current on all my shots, yowch, and I just got to visit the vet a couple of weeks ago and she gave me a clean bill of health and I've also been neutered, double yowch, I just hated wearing that white cone of shame.
I'm a pretty quick learner. In the last couple of weeks I've learned to heal and my foster mom and dad are teaching me to stop, sit, and stay. I take treats gently and I have manners when I eat my breakfast and dinner, I don't gulp my food down or tear your hand off while you're putting the food down.
I like playing with a stick or ball, I'd love to sleep on a nice big bed with you, I have a nice shiny coat, and I can hardly wait to meet you and get to my furever home with no other pets, just me and my hoomans for now. Maybe once I get comfortable with you we can discuss other dogs joining us. Please remember I am a puppy and need time and patience!!
